At Bright Kids Blk 175D, we believe that the best learning happens when children can explore, touch, and experience the world around them. Our Playgroup to Kindergarten 2 children and parents embarked on an exciting field trip to Nature Kindred, where they enjoyed a full day of hands-on discovery, movement, and fun-filled learning about fish and their habitats.

Starting the Day with Music & Movement
The day began with a lively Music and Movement session that set the perfect tone for adventure. The children danced and sang along to songs about fish, eagerly wiggling their fingers and arms to mimic swimming fins. This joyful warm-up not only built excitement for the activities ahead but also encouraged gross motor development and group participation.

Storytelling: Caring for Our Fishy Friends
Next, the children gathered for an engaging storytelling session. Through an interactive tale — A Fish Out of Water by Helen Palmer, they learned about the proper way to feed fish and why it’s important not to overfeed them. The story sparked meaningful conversations about responsibility and empathy — values we aim to nurture in every Bright Kids child.

DIY Fish Tank Activity
One of the highlights of the day was the DIY Tank Station, where each child had the opportunity to design their very own mini fish tank. Using colourful materials and guided by their teachers and the instructor, they counted pebbles, arranged plants, and talked about colours — weaving early numeracy and creativity into play. Our parents and teachers watched proudly as the children worked with focus and joy, eager to bring their creations to life.
Mini Pond Adventure: Catching Guppies Gently
The excitement continued at the Mini Pond, where children and parents experienced the thrill of catching guppies with small nets. Under gentle guidance, they learned how to handle the fish carefully and safely — an activity that taught patience, coordination, and care for living things. The delight on their faces as they watched the guppies swim was a heartwarming reminder of how curious young minds are about the world around them.
A Day of Meaningful Learning
The trip to Nature Kindred was more than just a fun day out. It provided valuable opportunities for sensory exploration, hands-on science, and real-life application of classroom concepts. From music to storytelling to caring for fish, every moment was designed to nurture curiosity, confidence, and connection with nature.
Our children went home with new knowledge, proud smiles, and a brand new Fish tank with little live guppies to take care of — a true reflection of how we make learning come alive at Bright Kids Blk 175D.
