Start Small Dream Big 2025: Recycle Today for a Greener Tomorrow

This year, our N2 to K2 children joined ECDA’s Start Small Dream Big (SSDB) initiative with the theme “Recycle Today for a Greener Tomorrow.” Together with their parents and teachers, the children learnt how small actions—like recycling, reusing, and reducing waste—can help care for the Earth.

From sorting cans and boxes, to creating musical instruments, games, and paper beads out of recyclables, the children explored creative ways to give old items a new life. They also shared their learning with the wider community—singing songs and playing handmade instruments with the elderly, making posters on reducing plastic waste, and even designing kites from recycled materials at City Sprouts @ Henderson.

Parents played a big role too, partnering with us to collect recyclables, build bins, and encourage their children at home. At the end of the project, families celebrated the children’s efforts with medals made from recycled materials—a thoughtful reminder that every effort counts.

Through this journey, our children not only learnt about caring for the environment, but also about working together, giving back, and finding joy in simple acts of kindness.
